The Mossberg 590A1 is a rugged 12‑gauge pump shotgun from the Mossberg 500 line, used by the U.S. military since the late 1980s. Originally I liked the idea of a semi-auto shotgun being used as a point man’s weapon due to the ability to put rounds on target fast. As I worked more with the shotgun, I found that the shotgun would rather excel as a SHTF service shotgun or a home defense shotgun.
