MASTERING THE DOUBLE ACTION/SINGLE ACTION TRIGGER
That long, heavy double-action first pull isn’t a flaw—it’s the best safety ever invented for a fighting handgun. Under real stress your caveman brain slams the trigger the instant the gun clears leather. A striker or 1911 can go off before the muzzle’s on target. A proper DA/SA eats all that extra force and only breaks when you’re actually pointed in and mean it.
Then it rewards you with a crisp 4–5 lb single-action trigger for every follow-up shot and a decocker that lets you holster hammer-down without praying. I’ve had negligent discharges with short triggers. I’ve never had one with a traditional DA/SA. Two weeks of deliberate dry-fire and the “complicated” first shot becomes faster and safer than any striker gun on the planet.
