MODERN CHRISTIANITY IS A PERFORMANCE ART

When I began my journey and practice of the Christian faith, my pastor sat with me and answered questions for what seemed like hours. Finally, he issued me a challenge. He wanted me to seek my answers in the bible. He challenged me to read the bible and understand the story of Christ and his teachings. This challenge only opened my eyes to the hypocritical ways we worship and how upside down our faith is to this day. We praise Jesus in song repetitively and call it "WORSHIP", but never find a word in the bible that promotes this idle behavior. We gather in buildings and dress in a deceptive manner and have become actors/actresses on the Sabbath, then proceed to be gluttonous, selfish, lustful, hateful, vengeful, spiteful, sexually immoral, and liars. Churches of today have become little more than money-harvesters using spiritual entertainment to encourage cheerful giving.

THE WAR IN OUR HEARTS

There is a real war raging inside every one of us against the evil one and the sin that tries to rule our lives. Lust, greed, rage, selfishness, and every other filthy habit pull at us daily. The bible makes this clear in Ephesians 6:12 when it says our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers and authorities of this dark world. Jesus showed us how to fight it by living pure and obeying the Father no matter the cost. Yet the modern church has completely lost this battleground. It has turned into nothing but a performance art show full of singing and manipulative tricks to squeeze money out of people. Instead of teaching the straight word of God and pushing real change in hearts and lives, these places entertain the crowd and send everyone home feeling good but unchanged. This is not what Jesus ordered at all. He demanded disciples who actually follow him and spread his teaching, not buildings full of actors who clap along to shallow music.

SPIRITUAL EXTORTION

Churches today hammer people with guilt over tithing as if it is some unbreakable law that will curse you if you skip it. They twist old testament rules meant for ancient Israel and slap them on believers today to keep the cash flowing. This is pure spiritual extortion dressed up as obedience. The New Testament never commands a flat ten percent or threatens curses for not paying up. Second Corinthians 9:7 says each person must give what they have decided in their heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, because God loves a cheerful giver. These money takers collect piles of cash every week then spend almost none of it spreading the word of Jesus like he ordered in Matthew 28:19 and 20. Most of the money goes to salaries, fancy buildings, lights for the stage, and keeping the show running. Jesus would be furious at this bastardized version of Christianity. He flipped tables in the temple because they turned his Father's house into a den of robbers. These modern money harvesters do the same thing every Sunday and call it ministry.

SINGING SONGS THAT ARE SHALLOW AND REPETITIVE

The so called worship music in these churches is the same boring loop over and over. You are holy. You are my God. Jesus I love you. Nothing about fighting the evil one or committing to kill lust, greed, and rage in your own heart. It is amateur and borderline blasphemous because it reduces the holy God to feel good background noise. The bible never promotes this idle repetitive behavior as the main act of worship. Amos 5:23 and 24 says God hates the noise of your songs and will not listen to the music of your harps unless justice and righteousness flow like a river. Isaiah 29:13 and Matthew 15:8 and 9 warn that people honor God with their lips but their hearts are far from him and their worship is worthless. Real worship is in Psalms where the words cut deep and call for true repentance and battle. The shallow junk playing today teaches nothing and changes nothing. It is time to boycott it completely and go back to the Psalms alone.

ACTING LIKE PURE INDIVIDUALS

People show up on Sunday dressed in their best clothes and fake smiles acting like they are pure and holy for a couple hours. They play the part of perfect Christians then walk out the door and live like the world the rest of the week. This is straight up acting. Jesus never told us to put on a show or hide who we really are. He called us to be real and honest in our daily walk. The bible says in Romans 12:1 that true worship is offering our bodies as a living sacrifice which means every single day not just one polished hour in a building. Pretending to be something you are not on the Sabbath while the rest of the week is full of sin is hypocrisy at its worst. Drop the costumes and be your true self before God all the time.

SPEAKING IN TONGUES

Some churches push this babbling and jumbling of words and call it speaking in tongues as if it makes them super spiritual. The bible uses tongues as shorthand for speaking in a real different language so the gospel could reach foreigners. First Corinthians 14 makes it clear that tongues must be understood or interpreted for the church to be built up not turned into some confusing sideshow. This modern version is just more performance to make people feel special while the real work of purity and obedience gets ignored. It adds nothing to the fight against evil and only distracts from the plain word of God.

GATHERING IN ONE BUILDING ON ONE DAY OF THE WEEK

The early church met house to house every day sharing meals and teaching the word as Acts 2:46 and 47 describe. They did not lock themselves in one fancy building once a week then live however they wanted the other six days. Jesus never ordered a single building model. He sent his followers out into the world to make disciples everywhere. These modern setups keep everyone inside walls where the money stays and the real mission dies. The transmission of the word ends at the parking lot. This is upside down and exactly why so little real change happens. Boycott these isolated money takers and start meeting simply with real believers who actually live the word daily.

THE CHAOS OF DOZENS OF DENOMINATIONS

There are dozens of denominations all claiming to follow the same Jesus yet none of them fully agree on what the bible really says. They fight over small details but every single one runs the same tired show of repetitive singing and pushing people to give money. This division proves the whole system is broken. Jesus prayed for unity in John 17 yet these groups stay split while copying the same shallow performance that ignores the war in our hearts. They all harvest money and entertain the crowd but few actually teach the hard call to purity and obedience that Jesus modeled.

THE WAY FORWARD IS TO BOYCOTT

The only solution is to walk away from these money takers completely. Stop feeding the machine. End the listening to those repetitive shallow worship songs that teach nothing about the fight against evil. Go straight back to the Psalms for honest praise and commit fully to following the word and the example of Jesus every single day. Read the bible for yourself like my pastor challenged me to do. Live pure. Battle lust, greed, and rage head on. Gather simply with others who want real change not a show. This is the proper way a Christian should live. Jesus ordered us to make disciples who obey his teaching not to fund fancy stages. The war in our hearts is real and it is time to fight it the way he showed us without the hypocrisy and extortion holding us back.
